EMERALD SOCIETY CORRECTION DEPARTMENT CITY OF NEW YORK
PAST PARADES
The NYCD Emerald Society has proudly represented the Correction Department in the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade since 1955. Prior to the formation of the Emerald Society, the Friendly Sons and Catholic Guild were the affiliated organizations to the Parade. Throughout that time, the Society has remained one of the Parade’s most respected uniformed organizations, preserving the traditions of Irish-American law enforcement officers and public service while honoring generations of Correction Officers and civilian employees.
